What we do...
Young Mom Marin offers a wide variety of parent education and support based on the significant needs of the young parents. We work towards developing new opportunities, learning new skills and building individual capacity. Young moms are encouraged to; complete or continue their education, develop healthier relationships, engage in new capacities, seek stable employment, and are offered information and support focused on how to care for, and nurture their children.
Our moms are often supported through challenging times and circumstances such as mental health concerns, court situations, driving barriers, childcare options, housing struggles and more!
The YMM group plans outings to enrich the feeling of family life and share time together.
We will help access; baby items, diapers, emergency funds, food, and crisis support to move families through difficult situations.
Young Moms Marin hosts free community-building events for the young parenting community at large.
PEER LEADERS
Currently we have three peer leaders that share the responsibility of guiding the weekly groups and the future of Young Moms Marin.
Our leaders were once young mom participants that have stayed engaged with the group, but also want to share the supports and skills that they have gained. They value the group and being involved with new young moms. Our peer leaders have taken the lead in their areas of interest and skill.
